Phillip launched LaFargue in 2020 with a commitment to improving people's lives and experiences by supporting the growth of organizations that bring positive, equitable services and products to the world. He does this through thoughtful engagements with deep discovery and problem definition phases, active collaboration and co-designing, and outcomes that are led by both evidence and vision.

From 2014 to 2020, Phillip served as vice president at Louisiana-based consulting firm Emergent Method, where he worked with clients to develop and implement strategies based on an understanding of their customers, employees, and partners.He also developed and led the firm’s talented team of designers and played critical roles in business development, company culture, and developing the company’s brand.

Prior to that, Phillip was senior vice president of marketing for the Baton Rouge AreaChamber (BRAC), one of the nation’s leading economic development organizations, and director of communications at Center for Planning Excellence, a nonprofit community planning agency with a focus on smart growth and resilience. Phillip also worked as a senior design associate at Matter, a strategic design firm in Atlanta, where he helped clients like the Marriott Corporation and the WK Kellogg Foundation develop services through human-centered methodologies.

Phillip holds a Master of Design in Human-Centered Communication Design from the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, as well as aBachelor of Arts in English Literature from Louisiana State University.

Phillip serves as board chair for the Baton Rouge Gallery and Center for Contemporary Arts and immediate past-chair for Leadership Baton Rouge Alumni. He also recently completed terms as a board member for the Big River Economic and Agricultural Development Alliance (BREADA) and the Manship Theatre at the Shaw Center for the Arts. In addition, Phillip was named to the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report’s 2012 “Forty Under 40” class of rising stars in the Baton Rouge area. He is co-founder of the GRAMMY-winning Louisiana-based record label, Valcour Records, with his partner Joel Savoy.

Last but not least, Phillip is a proud husband and #girldad, finding great reward in coaching, cooking, reading, and acting silly with his girls.
